Description
Sitting by the edge of the lake,
Staring out across the misty surface.
No breeze ruffles the grass,
The water is calm.
Middle finger pointing down,
I lower my hand.
Second thoughts,
But it is too late.
Barely touching the surface of the water.
The ripples expand.
Impurifying the entire lake,
Damaging its mirror surface.
Looking in,
I try to see my face,
But the reflection is blurred,
Distorting the reality of this world.
Only time can heal this scar,
Eventually smoothing the ripples,
Restoring the perfect lake.
Like forgiveness seeping into a broken heart.
